Seasons & Weather

The islands have a tropical climate. The temperatures vary little throughout the year, but they are high on the northern islands and gradually cooler as you move to the south. Trade winds from the east-southeast bring year long cooling breezes late afternoon and early evening. November to April is warm and rainy, while May to October is cooler and drier, when the islands are under the influence of the SE trade winds.
The cyclone season is November to March. Full cyclones rarely hit anywhere in French Polynesia.

Boat Cruising Seasons
French Polynesia can be visited year-round, but the months of November to April see tropical showers passing at greater frequency than other times of the year. French Polynesia is at its best between June and August when the climate is at its driest and the weather is sitting comfortably in the high 20s to mid 30s Celsius.
